Generative AI has not only transformed the software industry through its ability to dramatically accelerate the development of software and its associated artifacts. The technology is also having an impact on society at large, where models, tools, and agents streamline processes and create opportunities for people to realize ideas and projects that were previously impossible due to limitations in time, cost, or expertise.
At the same time, resistance to the technology is growing in society, partly driven by concerns about what it may bring.
In this seminar, Dr. Emil Alégroth from Blekinge Institute of Technology provides an overview of the technology and how it actually works, followed by recent findings in the field and an explanation of why this technology and AI-enabled Software Engineering is important for both Sweden and Europe.
