What are we looking for?

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and manage functional safety requirements in accordance with ISO 26262, CENELEC 50159 and CENELEC 50128 standards.
  • Perform safety analyses, such as FMEA, FTA, and DFA, to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with design, software, and hardware teams to integrate safety measures into system architectures.
  • Create and validate safety concepts, including functional and technical safety concepts.
  • Support the development of safety-related work products, including safety plans, reports, and verification records.
  • Participate in design and safety reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices.
  • Conduct safety assessments and audits to ensure adherence to functional safety processes.
  • Provide guidance and training to teams on functional safety principles and practices.
  • Work with external stakeholders, such as suppliers and certification bodies, to align on safety requirements.

 

Main FuSa Engineer Duties:

  • Define and document safety goals and requirements for automotive systems.
  • Perform hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA) for system-level functions.
  • Develop and maintain safety case documentation to support product certification.
  • Validate safety mechanisms through simulation, testing, and analysis.
  • Ensure traceability of safety requirements across design, implementation, and verification phases.
  • Support root-cause analysis and resolution of safety-related issues identified during testing.
  • Prepare and deliver functional safety presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on functional safety standards and ensure their application in projects.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve conflicts between safety requirements and design constraints.

Authorities:

  • Approve safety requirements and safety concepts for automotive systems.
  • Authorize changes to system designs to address safety-related issues.
  • Define and enforce standards for functional safety processes and documentation.
  • Provide expert recommendations on safety strategies and risk mitigation measures.
  • Represent the organization in discussions with certification bodies and external stakeholders.
  • Set benchmarks and best practices for functional safety engineering within the organization.
